Positive vs Negative = fight

“Remain positive” is the name of the song. “It’s going to get better” is that catchy chorus. “After the storm, there’s going to be a rainbow” is what ties it all together perfectly, like a beautiful melody. It’s on a loop/repeat, in different languages and many people love to do the cover; I’m included of course.

Let’s admit, it’s not a lyrically incorrect song, we just don’t like to listen to it when we are in a bad space, but we usually do get out of that bad space and realise, wow, they weren’t wrong after all.

We are constantly in a fight, to remain optimistic. And when we can’t do it on our own, people are there to do it on our behalf. It’s a horrible feeling at that point in time, because deep down we know they are at least 90% right, but I know I never want to admit that, would you?

One time, I literally said to someone “Please, just let me feel this way. I want to feel helpless and believe that I’m a failure because that’s exactly what has happened! So just allow me to feel and acknowledge it.” Yeah, true story. I was frustrated at that time. I mean understandably, being positive didn’t prevent the negative, so I thought what am I going to gain now from being positive after the failure.

My mistake. If it was not meant to be today, that does not mean it won’t be meant to be next time. In that fight I let the pessimistic side win, which only resulted in a loop/repeat of a new ugly song and I was singing the cover.

You know when you have that one annoying song in your head and it’s a mission to get it out. That’s the feeling 10x worse. That’s the Positive vs Negative fight. We need to do whatever it takes to get the positive side winning more often, it can’t be 100% all the time, but we can try to get close. When you can’t do it on your own, don’t push that person singing you a sweet melody away.

Positive outlook = #Royalty
